“Honest, supportive and funny.”
With the help of a few friends, ((Gene + Alex)) met and fell in love. “I got together with my cousin, a bride to be, and her bridesmaids for tea. Within a few minutes, one of the other bridesmaids asked if I knew Gene. Despite the fact that Gene and I were part of a close-knit community of immigrants from the former Soviet Union, we had never met. Once we connected, we were hooked” ~ Alex said.
A few months after meeting, the pair traveled to Australia for a friend’s wedding. Gene was planning to propose at a Margaret River vineyard near Perth, but the weather was not cooperating. After they returned to Perth, they were walking around trails at a park and Botanic Garden. Overlooking the city and water, the sun started to set. “That’s when Gene popped the question.” Alex said. “He asked if I loved him, got down on one knee, and said, the more important question is, will you marry me? I said ‘yes!’”
For their engagement photos, ((Gene + Alex)) chose to stop at Salvage One, their favorite coffee spot of Star Lounge, and the location of their first date at The Old Town Ale House. Michael Novo Photography captured the moment and provided us a glimpse into their day ~
Congratulations to the lovebirds as they plan their June 20, 2015 wedding!
